Howdy, I have just downloaded the trial for Event Calendar and Registration and have started reading through the User Guide, but have a few questions about the Event Registration portion of the module.

For starters, the organization I am looking to implement this module for has a couple events each year that require registrations and payments. I'm trying to find out if this module will suit our needs.

1. Depending on the event, the custom fields we'd like to collect are different based on each event. I see the ability to add custom fields, but I can't tell if all event registrations use the same set of fileds, or if I can create custom fields for each event.

2. For the events, we usually offer the purchase of "Sponsor Tables" or bundled seats that come with additional benefits. I have a few questions on how to implement this...
a) Can we create multiple registration types (i.e: Sponsor Table 8 people, Sponsor Couple 2 people, Member, Guest) and set a maximum number for each type? Instead of just limiting the event to 100 people, limit it to 5 tables, 10 couples, 40 Individuals.
b) Obviously I can set it up so only certain roles see certain things (like Member) but can I group the Member and Guest tickets into a single group of attendees for counting. (One thought I had was to make it an individual registration and just change when guests can see it, but then I may not be able to charge a separate price for it...)
c) Can I automatically add the appropriate number of additional attendees when some one purchases a Table or Couple registration. At the same time, can I allow someone to purchase multiple registrations, or will I need it to be a separate transaction. (Occasionally a sponosor may want to bring 16 people so they get 2 tables, or more likely an individual will want to purchase multiple individual tickets without being a sponsor.)

I plan to start playing with the modules to see if I can pull off any or all of these requirements, but figured it would also be handy to ask the question. Worst case scenario, I figured I might have suggested a few new ideas that could be worked into a future version.

Thanks,
Wayne

Hi,

1. Yes, you can have different Custom Properties. But it is not based on event, it is based on module instead. This means, you add an EC&R module to a page, you create a set of custom properties for that module. (do not share it with other modules)

And then you add another EC&R module to another page, (for a different type of events to collect different set of data using different custom properties).

Now your problem is, having different type of events displayed on different tab (DNN page). But the EC&R module can link different modules with sub-calendar module. Go to Main Settings you will find it at the top.

This way, you can have different type of events displayed in one single calendar, but they were created from different EC&R modules, thus linked to a different set of Custom Properties.

2. a), yes, you can have different type of price. (for group, for individual, for table, etc.), but it will only count as 1 attendee, unless you can register the attendee's name with a different type of fee ($0, same table).
It cannot automatically calculate a table as 8 person.

b), not sure what you mean....

c), I am not sure what you mean but yes, you can make someone to purchase multiple registrations, and also can allow them to add additional attendees, so that you can capture all attendee information.

As you suggested, the best way you need to play around and to see whether it works for you or not.

Thanks.
