We would like to limit the number of available spots in a specific so no more then that number can register for the events. We would also like to show how many spaces are available in the list or calendar view. Is this possible with the EC&R module? If not, will it be in the future. We use this feature for classroom training, webinars, etc.

Yes, these features are available.

You can restrict the max number of registrations.

and you also can use the tokens to change the list view template to display the total number of participants and available slots.
