I have been trying to setup a Golf Tournament registration.
I do have some problems that occurred.
First being new I dropped a module on the page, went in and tried to create some categories.
If you do not select a checkbox role prior to saving. It will add the category, (category without the ability to edit or delete). Then prevent any further additions with the ability to edit/delete. You are just stuck!!
You need to fix this, if nothing else put in a default role,
If you do not, you have to delete all your work. Because you can no longer edit any present or future categories!!!!!
Had to delete all my work, remove the module from the DNN, reistall the module, and start over, I have tried this twice to ensure that was the problem. (I did not waste time doing anything else to the module the second time)

I need some help with creating a [attendee] list for each event.
Where and how do you put this.
My preference would be a link in the header, that would provide a link to see who is signed up.
I have tried to put this token in various spots, but to no avail
would be really nice to have someone click a link, redirect them to module set up to show that event's attendees
I thought I could put it the body of Rich Text Editor, and incorporate it in a table format. Help would be appreciated.

I also would like a better method of cancelling out of a event. Presently you have to go to my registrations. and hit the cancel field to change to cancelled. Problem being you can cancel, but your registration still shows up!!
My Tournament managers who have access to the module to download in excel will have to filter or be aware that all cancelled participants are still listed in the list of each tournament(event) not good!!! Why can I not get a listing of all noncancelled participant who are still signed up for the event. To take this further. I have used and need the available participants to show, other words, the available seats to show the recovered cancellation seat available. (nada)

While I have more problems, I need a answer to this problem ASAP!!! My review of the documentation reveals no solution to my access to core profile fields, and extended fields I have added for all registered users. I need some of these fields that I have in the (registration section of my core profile)to be available. We have a local ID field that all register users have, we key on this field to download registrations, and import them into a windows based program to set up our pairings. All of our software, keys into this local number, which I have in our core profile fields. While I can create a custom fields as ask for this data, I would prefer I could fetch this data somehow. There is no way to have this data show up in event registration proess?
More coming soon. I have 30 hours invested, a sufficient amount of money, I will forfiet if I cannot make this work. Please know your registration calender is by far superior to any other product. By I have my hopes on you for solutions! PattyB:unsure:

Hi,
1. Category problem, is already fixed. We will post an new update for v4.0 in days.

2. There is a token [ATTENDEES] you can use. I am not sure if this is what you mean.

3. Ok, we can add this feature at the Registration Manager to filter by status.

4. We will add this feature in future release. A workaround may be you can have a matching table with user core profile, by matching the email or user name.

5. On the other hand, we understand that our module is not a perfect or do-everything module. , it may not be suitable for Golf Tournament registration whereas it involves integration with other data.
Nevertheless, we are working on it to improve this module, so that more users can benefit from it.

Thanks for fixing the Category issue in the upcoming revision.

I was hoping you could point me in the right direction on using the token [ATTENDEES].
I cannot put the token within the rich text editor to show the attendees (was hoping to insert a table and have the attendees show up in the detail within a table.
I can put the token in the detail section of the template. But the attendees, show up in one long list, with comma separated values. I also would like to highlight the current person logged in in Red and Bold
If I put the token within the detail template, I have to use html coding to have it show up the way I want.
wishes.What html coding could you suggest to have it display the token in table format or ordered list. Or better yet have a link to display the attendees. ?

As far as the cancellation of registration for an event. Presently if a registrant cancels out of a event, the tokens [NUMBEROFPARTICIPANTS]do not refresh/update and as a result the [AVAILABLESEATS] DO NOT UPDATE. The owner of the event must go in and delete the user from the event, to allow the above tokens to show properly. Should the [NUMBEROFPARTICIPANTS] be changed to not show cancelled participants.
The listing of my registrations for the user, allows for cancellation after the event has closed.

I went in and edited the closing date of an event. So we could stop registrations from continuing if we desired. no matter what date I chose under the registration section for the event to close, it remains open to for view, then if someone clicks to register, it brings up the standard DNN error page. I know I can change the date of the tournament, Also If you wanted to change the date of the event after initial setup It will not update the date in registration manager.

As far as access to core fields to the registration section. I have a question. I have setup a custom property for a local number. What would be terrific, is a additional dropdown box in the view options/show registration dropdown box with additional core fields besides fax comments etc.. to added to registration, to be prepopulated from the core.


I hope this better explains my previous email. Any help would be appreciated. By the way, your registration/calender rocks, and I have not found anything out there any better. As far a all purpose registration module, it is very versatile, and can be setup for any type of event. I still have some questions. For instance I have yet to test the email and notification areas of the program.

hi,

1. [ATTENDEES] token is rendering fixed format. but you can have it link to attendee profile (Smart Thinker profile only).
You can't format this token in a table for now.

2. If you login as Admin user/ or Edit user, you will always see Register link. No matter how you change the event close date. Try login as a normal user to see.

Can you please number your questions, so that it is easier for us to answer and digest. thanks.

It's me again.

Ok for some reason, the cancelled participants do return the available seat now? Hurray!
I have put in a custom field in registration to capture the local number for now.

The next few problems I need some assistance on.

1) the Time stamp.
I cannot figure out how to get the correct (current time) I live in Arizona, and most programs have this as a choice. This state does not change over for daylight savings. All of our members live right here.I have changed it both in the site settings and in your main settings and nothing ever changes. Help would be appreciated.

2) event shows up under list view until after the start date, regardless of settings show until ** days before event date of event.
I can create an event for tomorrow, then edit the until days, for say 3 days. log out, then back in as a normal user - users with user registration access only, and the event still shows up, worse yet you get the dreaded 404 error if you click on the register link.

1), currently the module does not manage time, so it will be whatever time you have specified for that event will be used.
Do you have any suggestion on this?

2), Can you show me your URL, please provide the exact page where Events Calendar module resides. Thank you.

you must login to register. I have several users setup to test the settings. Starting at member1 through member7 with the login name and password the same.
again, I was thinking the problem is with editing the event name and event setup options after the event was first initialized. It seems to work fine if we do not edit anything prior to firing evnet

2nd. I presently have the default email of admin@scgmgc.org in my DNN settings which test fine. and checked all of the default email notifications that they are not empty. All of my dummy members that would fall under *@scgmc.org default to my postmaster@scgmgc.org account if there are not valid members in the system, but I do not get any notifications of event registration. Also if I register as the admin or host I do not get any notifications. Am I missing something? What to check?
