Hi,
I know Ive asked this before - but I need to ask again in a little different way.

My client wants the ability for people to sign up for an event after the start date of the event.

I tried to enable this by having people register and login. But, the register button does not show up for this security level for events past their start date. When I log in as an administrator, the register button shows up for events past their start date.

Can you explain to me the security level needed (or what is needed) for the customer to sign up and pay for events past their start date.

Thanks much. We are using this for kids after school sports classes and the parents often pay late, after their kids start the class.

Jane,

It is easy to configure.

Go to Edit event >> Under Registration section, you will find the following:

Open For Registration: By default, it is Until 0 Day BEFORE event start date, you change it to: x days AFTER event start date. Will do.

Thank you. This should work very well. Is there a way that I can make the default for x days AFTER event start to be greater than 30? say like 60?

Jane,

No, you can't default to that.

However, you can create an event as a template. and then each time you use Copy AS New to create a new event, so the new event will be same as template event, just change the event title, date and so on.

I have inquired about this previously.

I have tried to utilize the until x day BEFORE event start date. I have was asked to send my URL but I never got a response, so I will try again. Before I present the calendar module as configured for it's intended purpose, I have to ensure the module behaves as expected. It does not behave the way I thought it should.

After you set up the event, if you go back in and edit the x day to a day that should effect the exposure of the event. It still shows the event as available. Then when a user clicks on registration, the screen goes to the page not found 404 error page. I would think if I edited the before event day to a day prior to the current date it should prevent the event from showing up as available for registering. But it does not. And if it did the screen or message should say that the event is closed for registration. It does not know where to go, and gives the page not found error 404 page. to see the end result of a event that shows up you can go in my test child portal event page, and try the signup button (registration link with a different name)for the 7/28/10 event, which has a 5 day BEFORE event start date in the registration section. my test page has several test users in the profile member1 though member 7, with the username and password the same. I would be glad to send you a admin access by email to view my settings. http://scgmgc.org/tournaments/TournamentSignup/tabid/319/Default.aspx This is setup to redirect to the event calendar list view after login. so login as member1 member1. and try the 7/28 event, is still showing despite the fact the BEFORE days has past. Am I missing something or is the module behaving not as designed?

Pat,

I suggest you should start a new topic on this, as Jane will also get notified on all the replies...

1.) We never received your URL which you said you have sent before.

2.) I checked and login as member1 at your website, I suspect that you CHANGED the template at View Options. and NOT using the default token: [REGISTER]. rather you hard coded a hyper link in the template.
This way, the hyper link will always show.
If you want to change the display link, you can do this way: (use IfEmpty statement, please refer to Token guide, you can find the link at your View Options page.)
[REGISTERLINK|SIGN ME UP]

Please correct me if I am wrong.

3.) if possible, please provide admin access.

So far, I don't think it is a module problem. (You can restore to default template and try again.)
