Hi, I have been testing smart-thinker profile module with Events calendar. Events Calendar module have lots of good features. If these two solution can be combine then users of smart-thinker social suite will love to have this module. User base of smart-thinker is growing day by day as its free. If you need any of my assistance in preparing the demo at your site then please let me know. I will share with you the result of the integration and possibilities in a day. Thanks. |

I have tested the demo. I just had to read the user guide for 10-15 mins and i have modified the detail-view template very easily. Just for a demo i have integrated the Profile pic of the user with the Event. Check the following URL http://i42.tinypic.com/28888bn.jpg. Currently in the demo User ID is not exposed so it'll be very difficult to retrieve the Event created user's profile pic. Its very good to see that your Event Calender module is template driven. After installing the Smart-thinker profile module you can easily integrate the Event Creator or Event Attending user pic. You just need to expose a new token of Event creator ID and a template for Event Attendees IDs. By using the following code you can easily get the pic of the user http://YourDomain.com/DesktopModules/Smart-Thinker%20-%20UserProfile/Profile.ashx?id=2&w=25&h=25" You can see that as the ID token is not exposed so for testing i have to use ID=2 Similarly 'w = 25' means its width is 25. You can get the image in your desired width and height. |

Hi, thanks for sharing! and I am glad to hear that. Actually in my pending release, you will have more tokens, such as [CREATEDBYUSER] to render the user ID. [CREATEDBYUSERNAME] to render the full name of the user. Please let me know how I can make it easy for you to integrate with that module, and I will do my best to help you. Thanks. |

I am also interested in exploring swapping Event Calendar & Registration for the Smart-Thinker Events module. The posts above are not all that clear. Is it possible to use this module in lieu of the Smart-Thinker module. Specifically what I need to know is can I put this module on a page with the Smart-Thinker UserProfile module and set it so that I see only the events set up by the specific user. To do this it would need to be able to filter by the UserID. Will it work? |

Hi, I was bit busy at some other stuff lately so unable to share any update on this. Providing a token for userID and username can easily integrate user pic with this module. And that pic then navigate to the user profile (if someone wana see who created that event). Similarly by using userID this module can easily be integrated with Ventrian Private Messages to send private message to the event creator to know the details of the event and other stuff. Now as smart-thinker module work specially incase of profile integration, it passes the ID of the profile owner in URL of the page like 'http://www.abc.com/profile/tabid/89/id/73.aspx' So the ID in the above URL is 73 Smart-thinker profile module recognizes the user ID form the URL and loads the info according to that. Now what i think is there is a need of a separate module, may be called as profile integration, that passed the ID in the URL and according to that displays the events created by the USER based on that ID. Now here one thing should be considered 'ID' in the URL should not be hard coded instead an option is provided in the setting to use the keyword for profile integration (becoz some module use UserID). I think by this way it can easily be integrated with smart-thinker module. And events created by a particular user can be seen on his smart-thinker profile page. Please share your suggestion abot it. If you need any of my assistance in this case then plz let me know. |

Two more issues 1. Can this then be integrated with Smart-Thinker UserGroup so it shows only events for a particular group 2. Is it possible to filter events by user location? InvenManager, could you email me off line to discuss this? |

Here are a couple scenarios that I need to work out. We have a User Home page that shows information about a specific registered user. We need to be able to have the specific user enter events through this page and have them show up in a section on it titled "My Events". The only events that should show here up are those that the specific user entered. In order for this to happen the event must be associated with the USERID that is exposed by the User Profile when it is saved and the display filtered by this same USERID when it is shown. We have group pages that show information of interest to a specific group of registered users. We need to be able to have these specific users enter events through this page and have them show up in a section on it titled "Group Events" and also on the personal home page of the specific user who created the event. The only events that should show here up are those that the related to this specific group of users. In order for this to happen the event must be associated with both the USERID and the GROUPID that is exposed by the UserGroup when it is saved and the display filtered by this same GROUPID when it is shown. We have a community calendar on its own page which displays all the events submitted by the registered users. This calendar should include all the events regardless of where they were created. We need to give users the ability to filter the display of these events by their location. When a user does something on the site, like add blog entry, the activity is posted to an activity log known as a storyfeed which is displayed on the group or user page. We need to be able record event information to the storyfeed. The initital question is which, if any, of these scenarios can your module currently handle without modification? |

Any Progress on the integration of Smart-Thinker or Active Social with regard to userid and profiles/pictures? We use both and are trying to decide on directions to go since Smart-Thinker isn't really supported. |
