Is there a way to strip the monthly calendar view of navigation controls div's with rounded corners, background colors and other formatting to create a layout that will support printing a nice clean and basic monthly calendar?

I am need something simple like this: http://www.mychurchevents.com/calendar/calendar.aspx?print_view=yes&ci=941913&list_by=calendar_month

OK, it looks like my issue is related to the fact that DNN 6 has issues with printing modules for unauthenticated users.

If you want to allow anonymous users to print a module you can set the module (Calendar) print options in "Settings -> Page Settings". Under Page Settings Check "Allow Print"

Save settings.

While logged in hover over the "Manage" button for and under "Admin" click "Print" This should open a new window for you that just has the module.

The URL should look something like this:

http://{YOURSITE.COM}/calendar/mid/471/dnnprintmode/true.aspx?skinsrc=[g]skins%2f_default%2fno+skin&containersrc=[g]containers%2f_default%2fno+container

You can copy this hyperlink and use it back on your calendar page in an new HTML module that says something like "Print Calendar". May sure to set the link target to "_blank" so it opens up on a new page.

Now you can print out the calendar using your browser. IE and Firefox have options to remove the header and footer items from the printing like Page # and URL.

My calendars are printing at 11x14. If you use Acrobat you can save the page as a PDF an import it as an object into word, publisher or other PDF files and reasonable preserve the formatting.

I am still going to go back and take a look at the Telerek Style Builder and do something with the "Simple" template as that template looks more like Google Calendar.

Joseph,

You are absolutely right!..

On the other hand, we should be able to add another print button to allow users to print the current view to another pop up page.

I was actually able to add some html to the toolbar using "Additonal Custom Text" so it'll open up a new page for printing.

Here is an example http://sma-tst.org/calendar.aspx (look next to the RSS feed button.

I figured out how to do make theming easy: http://www.invenmanager.com/Support/UserForum/tabid/705/aff/3/afv/topic/aft/4071/Default.aspx

Using that guide I wrote I can easily make another page with a calendar that is more print friendly on a hidden page. (All Users permissions but not in the menu) This will give me a web friendly calendar and another calendar without the RSS, search, etc that will print cleanly.

Sorry to pepper you with questions about printing, but I was getting hammered by a church lady that was worried I couldn't print her calendar for her.

Hi Joseph,

We are glad to help.

Nice website, and nice calendar design!

I am proud of you to be one of the few users who can truly customize the Calendar to a certain extent, to meet your requirements.

Please can you allow us to have your website address as one of our user sites?

Meanwhile, do feel free to let us know your feedback so that we can make it better.

Thanks! The site isn't set to go live just yet and I'll be changing the Portal alias to the live domain name when it does go live. This should happen sometime in Feb 2012.

As soon as the site is live I'll give you the URL.

OK, I updated my test calendar so that there is a print icon. This print icon points to a calendar on a hidden page that includes data from the main calendar. This hidden calendar uses a theme that is very print friendly and is based on the MS Outlook Calendar printout.

Here is the Main calendar: http://sma-tst.org/calendar.aspx.

Note the print Icon next to the RSS feed button.

How do I attach a zip file that includes the new Theme for calendar printing so others may use it?
