I am using your module as a volunteer self scheduling system. Volunteers sign-up to work shifts at summer festivals.

When I setup the event I wish I could check a box to tell the system to send an email reminder to all registered users "x" number of days before the event. It would be great if the email could be templated and accept tokens so it could be very similar but slightly different than the email the user received to when they first register for the event.

I would expect that only the currently registered users would receive the reminder. Meaning, if a user registered and then later cancelled their registration they would not receive a reminder email.

Would be pleased if this functionality already exists but couldn't find it.

Thanks,
Mike

I did have two posts but they are both unique requests. I apologize for starting them both with the same line. This post has to do with sending a reminder about the event to all registered users 2 (or "x") days before the event takes place. I know that each inidividual can click a link to sign up for a reminder but it would be nice if they automatically received a reminder as a registered participant that can be controlled by an email template with full token availability.

I realize I can filter per event and manually send a message to participants, but this process is manual and it doesn't allow tokens (if my understanding is correct). I have over 100 events with 2 to 3 participants each coming up in one weekend and it would be nice to send emails that includes event name, date, and time they are registered for.

(the other thread was about the email received just after a person is registered) Sorry for the confusion and thanks for the help! I have always had quick and helpful responses from Invenmanager!

Mike,

Your 2nd question in this post is solved. See here:
http://www.invenmanager.com/Support/UserForum/tabid/705/aff/4/aft/2514/afv/topic/afpgj/1/Default.aspx#5697

For the automatic reminder (By role or by user), we can add this feature, but it may take a while, I hope can deliver by end of June with this feature included. :0

Thanks again for all the good suggestions.

Regarding the automatic reminder, I want to restate my request one more time just to be clear. I am requesting an automatic reminder for a particular event that is sent to all "currently registered attendees" of that same event. And the email would be sent a configurable number of days before the event takes place. I interpret your wording "by role or by user" slightly different but perhaps you meant the same thing. Thanks again. I love the module even without this feature.

Cheers,
Mike

Mike,

Okay, I understand exactly what you want now... It is a great feature to have indeed.

Currently the workaround, is to go to Registration Manager, select the event from the list, then you will be able to send out notifications at the bottom of the page. (manually).

I think we should be able to add the feature to make it "automatically", also allows you to control when the reminder should be sent.

Hi,

I am also trying to get my head around this for the reminder. Thanks to your response via email I have found we can change the event reminder text in the Main Settings /Email reminder (I didn't find this in the instruction manual).

There are still some elements I don't understand and would love an explanation about.

1) In the event setting under each event - what is the point of setting up the "notify me about the event" with a specific timeframe? Correct me if I am wrong but this setting doesn't have to do anything with the possibility of reminding registered event attendees about the event x days in advance?

2) How do I then remind the event attendees about the event x days in advance? These attendees haven't been added to a role. There isn't much point me extracting the email addresses of the event attendees and adding them in the event notification settings box and update so it sends them an email. There is no point for me to do that using the tool, I may as well do this via standard email (except for using tokens of course)

I believe what I am after may be the exact same think that the Original Poster is asking about. Which I basically thought was the definition of an "event reminder".

3) When this event reminder system was built, what was it actually designed to do? Remind event organisers or members?

Thanks!

Hi,

1), Anyone can go to the Event Detail page to add an reminder by click on "Notify me about the event". This works regardless you registered for the event or not. (If works the same way as the reminder in Google calendar and Outlook).

2). Your question is reminder for ATTENDEES. (for those who registered for the event only). Currently you can only send emails to them via Registration Manager.

3). The reminder system was build for everyone, not just for Attendees only.

4). Having said that, I agree it is good to have the system to automatically send out email reminders for attendees x days ahead (base on your configuration), better still, send out sms alerts automatically. (This is the direction we want to move)
