Would be nice to have a View Option for Venue. "Display Venue Filter" when enabled would display drop down filter just as Categories does.

In Event Calendar Main Settings would be nice to have a checkbox to either enable/disable Venue from being used on the edit form for events

Yes, it would be great to have a filter for Venue...

Before it is available, you might want to use the Search module to filter by Venue.
