Hi, Is there a way to add custom fields to the event registration form to collect additional user data? (e.g. Teacher, Grade). Nathan |

If not, is there a way to display additional instructions so that I can ask the user to enter the Teacher and Grade in the Comment field when registering. Does the text entered in the Comment field show up on the Registration Manager page and on the Excel file when I download the attendee info? Thanks! Nathan |

Thanks! I had been looking at the user's guide and had tried creating a Custom Property although I had missed the part about setting the Category. Does all custom properties with category 2 always show up on all registration forms? This seems to be the case. I guess we can live with this, but some properties won't make sense for some events. For example, we will have custom properties of "Grade" and "Teacher" for things like chess club where we are always registering students and we need to inform the teachers who to send where after school. However, we offer a movie night where the attendees are members of a family and we won't need teacher and grade. I guess I can just make the fields not required although we would like to make them required for after school activities. Otherwise, we'll have to manually look up the teacher and grade and add them (maybe we'll eventually be able to pull up this info from the registered users in DotNetNuke, but we aren't there yet). So, it would be great if there was an option when creating an Event to select which custom properties to include. Nathan

If I were wanting to collect (forced) a physical address for people registering for events, would the Custom Fields be where I would do this? Thanks, Dave |

I want to make the "Address" Field within the registration mandatory and add it to the email that is generated to the invite owner / admin. Thanks for your help. Dave |

Well, we could use the report to Excel as a workaround to this but we get an error when we try to report our reservation list to Excel. If we make the Address Field (What field is that in the ASCX file) mandatory will this come out then on a reservation list export to Excel? |

When I try to open the file it hands me with the Excel export, Excel gives me and error that says.... The file you are trying to open, EvenA36-20100922104936.xls, is in a different format than specified by the file extension. Verify that the file is not corrupted and is from a trusted source before opening the file. Do you want to open the file now? YES NO Help If I push YES, the file opens with A1-A37 grid lines drawn and the word "edit" in A1. |

More on this issue. The Export to Excel link seems to actually export the data, although it gives you the error and if you say yes, the data is there. The Export report to Excel give you a file like the sample I referred to with no data. The HTML report also gives results like what I was describing with the word "edit" in the first cell and borders drawn around the cells within the report. |
