We just installed the Event Manager module on a client's site. I set up all of the categories when I installed the module. Now, the client would like to be able to edit the category colors, names, etc. She is an Administrator on the site, but when she goes into the edit cateogories page, she is not presented with the option of editing the categories I created.

Is there some way to allow her to edit the categories, even if she did not originally create them?

Thanks for your help.

David,

Yes, you can.

1. Login as Host Account,
2. Edit Categories,
3. Un-check "Share this category with other modules"
4. Click update.

Thanks

Hi,

We are running enterprise 4.0, and when we log in as host, we still don't get either the edit or delete capability for categories that are shared. the only way we can resolve it is to alter the -1 value in EventsCalendarCategory (column moduleid) to map to a real moduleid.

Also, while on the topic of the EventsCalendarCategory table, is there a reason the Roles column is only a varchar(200)? Depending on the length of your roles, you could exceed that very quickly (I'd like to see like a varchar(4000)).

thks,
Phil

Phil,

1. You can get an update in couple of days, in which this problem is solved.

2. We also modified the Roles column to contain up to 4000 chars according to your request.

Is there an upgrade now available I'm not aware of that resolves this issue?

Phil,

The current download on this website resolved the first issue, the 2nd issue is also resolved, but the update is not available for download yet.

thanks. Do you have a changelog anywhere which explains what was changed/fixed between the original 4.0 product, and what is available for download now, which looks like the zip itself is dated 6/1, and a number of the PAs look like they were recompiled in late may. We spent quite a bit of time UATing 4.0, so we need to know what to go back and look for in terms of changes.

thks,
Phil

Phil,

Yes, we do.
I apologize for costing you too much time on this module, I am confident that the new update should eliminate 99% of your problems if not 100%.

It should be available in 1~2 days, so, please come back to the download page to check.

Can you tell me where the release notes are for each of these new uploads? As I mentioned, we did a pretty complete UAT of the original 4.0 PA, but it looks like these are updated zip files in the downloads section but I don't know where to find the list of bug and/or enhancements for the newest version (vs. the original version).

Could you please provide a link to exactly where the release notes are. I'm assuming you're updating the version numbers for each of these new changes?

thks

Phil,

For EventsCalendar.dll version 4.0.0.3094, the list of fixed done (compared to original v4.0) are:

=> Attendee view, edit picture missing OK
=> Satellite module, arrow missing OK
=> categories appearing in other module due to cache OK
=> User unable to edit categories if set for sharing. OK.
=> If view option is not set, calender view error OK
=> Option to hide the left/right navigator OK
=> use cache to store templates OK.
=> jQuery popup top or bottom for day view OK.
=> New token [PRINTEVENTDETAIL], [PRINTEVENTDETAILLINK], OK.
=> no event message for list view. OK.

We do have a new release coming soon.

By the way, the one you can get from Download page already included those fix listed above.
