Hi,

I use your module in the context of language fr-CA.
So, eveything work fine, but when people are redirect to Paypal page, the title of event
with french accent are display with weird characters...
ex; L'innovation à la conqudéque du développement durable.

I try to use differents encodage like utf-8 and iso-8859-1 in the web.config file, but nothing works.

and the problem is not come from Paypal, because all them page is in French without accents error.

Any idea how I can fix it?

thanks

Patrick

It might be the URL encoding issue.

Can I access your URL?

Hi,

Yes sure!

http://idp-colloque.com/Inscriptions3/tabid/110/ctl/pay/Mid/542/itemid/10/regid/155/d/20100625/Default.aspx

If you click on Paypal payment you will see in the title what I means.

Thanks

Patrick,

I see that problem.

This could be when PayPal decoding the URL they did not realize the language is actually in French. When we pass the parameters we always encode it first.

Do you have any suggestions?

Hi,

I contact twice Paypal for that and each time they answered me anything. Last time they told me that it was a problem of cache memory.
Last year it was possible to configure the Paypal account encoding throught the preference. Then this option doesn't exist anymore.
I have no idea now what can I do for that?

Thanks

I believe PayPal has to do something with that. We made sure before passing the event title to PayPal website, we have encoded using the .NET URL encoding tool, so it will preserve whatever it is there in the title, including special characters.

I don't know French, but how about if you change the encoding of the PayPal page? does it help?

Hi,

Just let you know that the problem is solved

Login in Paypal account and past this URL
https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_profile-language-encoding

This link doesn't exist in Paypal menu
In my case, using UTF-8 in advanced options of encodage have resolved my problem of French accents.
