Hi I have recently purchased Event Calendar & Registration - Standard License (Not for Load Balancing Environment) and was wondering about registrations. I have the following scenario. A convention is coming up and the client wants to create a site so that people attending the convention can log to the site, view their calendars and view what appointments they have and where they need to be in the convention. The client is expecting to do himself the registrations and then register the created users to the events he will also set up in the calendar. My question or assumption was, he would create the users with DNN's user accounts section, create the events with this extension and then be able to register the users from user accounts into the events in the extension so that when he gives out credentials to the people they come to the site with an already created user, log in, and open the calendar with the events they are already registered to. Is this possible or I'll have to think of a work around. Thanks! |

Hi, heres the way i see it working: please note that the whole thing is based on security roles and uses the main calendar. You could also create sub calendars and setup to show specific user groups through page settings. 1. Create users and specific roles for their events/appointments in dnn 2. Create categories for each role so that when that user logs in they will see their events/appointments only. (events calendar) 3. Register each user to their respective events/appointments (events calendar) you should be able to speed up the process by using the excel template for the events calendar, and im sure theres a way to import user data quickly in dnn but have never tried Gary might have more input, hope it helps |

Hi thanks for the quick reply. I think I am seeing what you are getting at, have a question though on #3, how should I do that? Do I have to log with each created user and register to the event or can I do this sort of like the add attendees? It looks like add attendees to an event is something like a generic user and not a DNN user. Thanks! |

Yeah i tried that logged in as an admin registering an attendee to an event with the exact same info that a DNN user has, but it doesn't look like it matches one with the other, it's like the DNN user is still out there and the attendee is a user is registered only with the admin. |

Andres, I see your point. Though your admin user can register the event and add attendees. Those are not considered as the DNN user registered himself. So the DNN Users will not be able to see those bookings as their own booking. I am not sure if this helps, but there is a token [ATTENDEES] you can use to display who had booked the events, optionally you also can link the attendee name to their profile with integration to Smart-Thinker.

Well since the idea is that they come and login with already registered "meetings" and we aren't doing it I just gave the steps for the client to create all users in the User Accounts of DNN. Create all events in the calendar and then log in with each user and register each one to the events. That is the only way they will be linked and I can later on re-adjust the calendar to show them each only the events they are registered to when they come to visit their itinerary in the site.
