One group of our users delivers 40-50 workshops every quarter. It requires them to negotiate for rooms and times before the workshop delivery schedule can be finalized. There is, of course, a 'drop dead date' meaning everything has to be set by a certain date. The drop dead date is known each quarter. It would be helpful for them to be able to enter the workshop and specify the date the workshop should be published, i.e. visible, to the public. That way they can get things set and entered as they approach the drop dead date but without the workshop becoming visible until then. If a change is necessary, they don't have to worry about notifying users who may have already signed up and the calendar content will always be as accurate as possible because they will have all changes made by the drop dead date.

I realize that registration can be prevented until a certain number of days before an event but that isn't quite the same thing. The date is relative to the date of the event vs. a specific date for all the workshops in a quarter. That presents other problems.

Thanks for your consideration.

Hi, mburks,

currently it does not support that feature. I am not 100% sure I am clear about your request but can you set a date relative to the event date for the registration, once you determined the workshop date, then you change the date relative to the event start date again?

What we suggest is a publish date similar to what you see in the DNN Announcement module. The event would not be visible in the calendar until the publish date. Once the publish date occurs, users of the website can see the event. Until the publish date, it's visible only to the role that created the event in the calendar (and portal administrators). If no publish date is set, it's immediately visible.

I hope that's a little more clear.

Mike

Yes, that is crystal clear, I understand what you want now. It is a very good suggestion actually, I will add this feature but I have to see whether we can add it in the coming release or the next next one...

Thanks.

Thanks!

Hi,

It is not released yet, but I am attaching it here for you to use. (Still under beta testing)

Remember, always test it on the development machine first, and make a backup before you upgrade to this.

Thanks.

Thanks! We'll give it a try on our test site. Do you have any idea when it will be released?

Thanks again,

Mike
