Is there an integration for Event Calendar & Registration with Facility Booking?

Here is our requirement:

We would like facilities to be venues in Event Calendar such that they cannot be overbooked. When a calendar event is submitted for a venue that is a facility it would automatically become placed in the moderation queue for events and not releaseable until cleared by facilities.

We would also like to require that a selection of a venue be made and prevent users from adding ad-hoc venues.

My client has a big concern about allowing people to overbook rooms. And there are some rooms where the appropriateness of usage must be approved before appearing on the event calendar. Other venues do not need approval and those venues would not be integrated with facilities booking.

With these changes I can meet the requirements for allowing users to post events to reserved venues that are in the facilities booking modules.


There is one other feature we would like. It probably deserves a separate request but it is from the same user. They would like the option for any event submitted as a featured event to automatically become moderated so that featured events must be approved.

I think you may not need to integrate the two modules.

Rather provide the ability to set certain Venues in Event Calendar module requires Approval automatically.
So there must be a flag for each Venue. Those venue does not flag require approval shall be published automatically.

And you also need a permission setting to set which Roles are allowed to add new venue.

Same for your last question, you need an option to set: Featured event require approval? If Yes, all featured automatically becomes moderated event, and it requires someone to approve it before it is published.

Is that correct?

Well, those rules would fit the requirements for Calendar, but we still want it to integrate to Facilities. Because, we still want all the features of Facilities and we want to use it for staff bookings. So, when the request come in from Calendar, we want to see them as pending on Facilities.

The Facilities module is for use by staff and the Calendar is for use by staff and committee.

this is a very good suggestion.

I will seriously give it a thought on how to integrate this for your requirements. but I can't promise you a immeidate update on this as the new version 3.0 is on the way in a few days time.

Hi There. I have a similar need for the facility booking to be part of the events module. Our need is to allow staff and the public to reserve rooms for events. We would need to set permissions per role as there are some rooms that should not be available to reserve to certain users. Without the integration of the facility booking there is no validation that prevents overbooking a room. We also have a client that likes to print off the room reservations for the day and post it outside each room.

1. Is there any way that these two mods be integrated if we purchase both modules?
2. Does the source code give us access to the source code for attaching files?

Since quite number of users had requested this feature, we will make it available in the next release v4.0. Which should be available before end of this March.

Any updates on the release date of the integration between these two modules? We are currently working with the two and are wondering how far away this v4.0 is?
