We wish to allow the person who create the event to also manage the event herself/himself.
i.e. there will be no event manager as, everyone who is allowed to create the event, is also the event editor and event manager.

Okay, do you have any problem with that?

If a user are allowed to create event, the user will be able to edit/delete/manage that event.

If you do not need approval before it is published, you should also allow him to be able to approve the event.
