We purchased the module a few days ago and have been entering tons of press releases with it, we were able to style it nicely.. This error does not happen every single time, but it happens most of the time.. When I link to a file within an article, we'll get an error that says: ============================== The resource cannot be found. Description: HTTP 404. The resource you are looking for (or one of its dependencies) could have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. Please review the following URL and make sure that it is spelled correctly. Requested URL: /LinkClick.aspx ============================== The link URL in full is /LinkClick.aspx?fileticket=JrcWawA-6rs%3d&tabid=76&mid=832 LinkClick.aspx works in the site just fine, but within advanced articles we get this error ... any clue why? the site is due to launch in a couple of days We're calling with the READMORE token, I'd use READMORELINK only there isn't always an attached file. |

Lonnie, From which folder you are using the file as an attachment? If you want normal user to view your articles and be able to click the link to the file, make sure the user (and roles) has permission to view your folder. You can check this by goting to Admin >> File Manager, click on the folder, you will see the permission grid below. If you are allowing anyone to view the article, make sure the folder (from which you attach files) are allowed to view by ALL USERS. Thanks. |

Great tip... the same problem was with me... The problem resolved but the objective doesn't achieve. Actually I put a file on a dnn site and send the attachment link to all for downloading it. Now I want to track the file downloads. I want users to click on the provided link and it first prompt for user login than download file... Please reply someone |

Hi, Muhammad, You may want to use Open Document Library module. (This is another separate third party module, you can find it on Snowcovered if you are lucky, because DotnetNuke acquired the copyright of that module). You store documents using that document module, and then place a link (virtual link) to that document in the description of your article. So, when user clicks on the link, they are actually viewing documents from that library module, and it will prompt for login if the document is secure. |
