I am having trouble setting up permissions for the Advanced Articles module to allow adding new articles by a user.

In DNN 5.2.0 I created a new Publisher role. A user assigned to this role should be able to edit existing articles as well as add new ones.
This is where my problem is. I can't set up a page permissions as well as module permissions in a way that they would allow the Publisher add new articles without enabling edit permissions of other modules.

When I have the edit permissions enabled on the module level only then I can edit existing articles but the "Add Article" and "My Articles and Approval" links are hidden. On the other hand, when I enable edit permissions on the page level then all other modules have their edit functions enabled, which I do not want.

You only need to enable Edit permission for that module.

However, you also need to enable permission at the Main Settings page (from module menu).
