I have the Advanced Article 4.2.9 module on a portal, and tried to put the satellite module on another portal on the same host. I see the article summaries, but the detail links don't work. I don't want to make the portal with the satellite module a child portal of the main portal. Is this the bug that is mentioned in one of the other support threads? |

Not really. In the new version 4.2.9, many new features are introduced and it is more robust. The detail link should work for the satellite module. Can you do the following, go to the main Articles module, go to the View Options to configure it property for the detail link. And then try the link at the Satellite module again. Or can you provide the website URL so that I can take a look at it? Thanks |

OK, I got it to work, but I had to change "How to display article detail" to "In a pop up window". That is the only setting that works with the satellite module. But I don't like the look as much as "In a separate window without other page content". If I choose "In a separate window without other page content" or "Inline with page content" the detail links don't work from the satellite module. Also, if I choose "Inline with page content" and have two Advanced Article modules on a page, clicking on the detail link makes the details show up in both Advanced Article modules, not just the one that I clicked on. I'm sorry, but I can't give you access to the site right now. It is an Intranet site with a lot of private content on it. Is there a way that I can put a link in the detail template that will link back to the page with the summaries? It would need to be a link that will work from the main module and the satellite module. If I hard-code the link, I can only get it to work for either the main module or the satellite module, not both. thanks! karl. |

I realize that the satellite module has its own View Options settings, but the satellite module does not have an Article Details Template section or a "How to display article detail" setting. Should it? By the way, the [RETURN] token does not always work from the satellite module. One place I tried it works, but the other places it takes me back to the main module summaries, not the satellite module summaries. This may also depend on the "How to display article detail" setting on the main module. |

Yes, it has own View Options. The satellite module use the detail template from the Main module. The [RETURN] token always takes you back to the main module listing. I suggest you to include a link in the template using javascript "history.go(-1);" so it always go back to the previous page. So it will always returns to the summary page where you come from. Will it work for you? |

Yes, javascript is fine for the "back" link. I was just figuring that out myself. So, the only issue that I still have is that I would like the detail link on the satellite module to work when the satellite module is on a different portal and the main module has "How to display article detail" set to "In a separate window without other page content". |

I am having a similar problem. In the second portal which is a different domain name you can not view any of the articles whether in the satellite or regular view of the articles. Main site where it works and they are entered - http://buffalodiocese.org/News.aspx Second portal where no links work - http://wnycatholic.org/ AND http://wnycatholic.org/DioceseNews.aspx This is a major issue since the site is live and the client is chewing off my ear about it. Is this going to be fixed? If so how soon? Is there any way around this asap? thanks! |

The view as a popup does not work. That is why I am in a bind. that only applies to the main site. The portal does not use the popups since it is using satellite articles. Is your fix going to work in my case with 2 separate domains? It seems that the module needs to be using absolute URLS and not relative. Is there any way to do that? |
